Products | SPE Cartridges Spark Online SPE cartridges in 96 wells microplate format
Solid Phase Extraction traditionally performed off-line using individual cartridges or microplate wells, is automated using disposable extraction cartridges that are placed online with the chromatographic system. The use of disposable cartridges in this manner eliminates sample carry over that is sometimes seen in other online methods. The 96 wells microplate is a commonly accepted sample format for automated HPLC analyses. So arranging the disposable cartridges in the same 8x12 format is a logical step.
Spark Holland has introduced this format in 1999 in the PROSPEKT-2 Systems. Since then this has more or less been the standard for online SPE and are available in several brands: HySphere (Spark Holland, The Netherlands); OASIS (Waters, USA); BondElut (Varian, USA). All these are also suitable for the current Symbiosis™ Online SPE Systems.
In our strive to continuously improve products and services, Spark has introduced a new format for Symbiosis™ and Prospekt-2™ Online SPE cartridges: the 800 series. In contradiction to the previous 700 series the newly designed cartridge tray that can be used directly in the ACE or the ACE Feeder units, without the stainless steel cartridge tray holder. The new cartridge tray significantly decreases tolerance variations and thus possible errors with cartridge pickup and placement in the ACE. At the same time it will simplify handling by eliminating to put the tray in the holder and by easier positioning of the new tray in the ACE or ACE Feeder units.
